Bianca E. Dijkstra
is a PhD candidate at the University of Groningen/Campus Fryslân since September 2017. After finishing her bachelor in business economics, she worked in the supply chain of two large multinational corporations for nearly five years. The experiences that she gained here inspired her to pursue a master in linguistics, with a major in multilingualism, at the University of Groningen. Now her PhD project ties all of these topics nicely together, as her doctoral research is about the multilingual communication practices of Polish truckers in Dutch warehouses. She will be a research fellow at Smithsonian Institution in Washington, D.C. from February to June 2021.
