Jelske Dijkstra
is a postdoctoral researcher at Mercator Research Centre/Fryske Akademy in Fryslân, the Netherlands. She has a degree in speech and language therapy and speech technology. Her main research interests are the early bilingual language acquisition, multilingual education and speech technology.
She has developed a grammatical instrument for speech and language therapists, which they can use to assess young Frisian speaking children. Her PhD-study focussed on the bilingual (Frisian-Dutch) language acquisition of toddlers in Fryslân. Further she worked on the development of a Frisian-Dutch speech recognizer.
